Day 1 in Kenya - Nairobi exploring

Me and my 30+ kg luggage, and same for Virve...all safely arrived ;o) At the check-in I did get the honor to move the toys from one bag to another. I collected some toys from friends, family and neighbors (to take them later on to kids orphanage and mentally handicapped childrens' carehome). After all the shifting the check-in guy took anyway both bags without extra charges...he must have been amused enough of Inna's very own toy story. Helsinki - Istanbul - Nairobi.

After the over 10 hours travel time it sure feels good to be here! Turkish airline beats though Finnair anytime in the quality of food and service. One has gotten too used to accepting the Finnair level that Virve and myself felt like flying business (though flying in economy) yesterday.

We started to get to the mood by drinking the Pelican moctails at the Istanbul airport.

So, now I can say that I've been to Turkey as well ;o) 2 hours at the Istanbul airport. Nice airport ;o) Apart from getting the local compliment that I look like Russian (for being so blond and white)...for historical reasons in Finland that kind of sentence is not always taken so well ;o)))) We had a good laugh in the store when talking about the cultural differences and how in Turkey that is big compliment to get.

The day started at breakfast with round of hugs with everyone. It feels so surreal and amazing to see everyone in person. We will have great 4 weeks together.

Dave took us to "shopping" this morning...we have now bags full of water bottles :o))) Dave has been here since early week. We are lucky to have one of us, who is already bit into "what's where" "how to..." items.

In few minutes time off to the elephant orphanage, giraffes and dinner with the team tonight.
Camera set and ready to go ;o)))) #ibmcsc Kenya3
